Two day trip to Alappuzha, Kerala, India.


This post is on my two day trip to God's Own Country. Alappuzha is popularly known by its other name Alleppey. Alappuzha was described as VENICE OF THE EAST. I enjoyed this trip. Those who need a break from their routine, I would recommend visiting Alleppey. The Scenery and the backwaters are so relaxing. It is a nice place to refresh our human body system. It was an amazing holidaying experience in the cruise along the palm-fringed lakeside. It was a picture-perfect venue for chaotic minds. Let me share the most beautiful and attractive ALAPPUZHA DAYS.

Pallathuruthy Houseboats Jetty




There are about more than 1000 houseboats in Kerala. These houseboats are meant for tourism in the backwaters. Everyone living along the banks of the lake owns a canoe or a houseboat. Surprisingly the numerics(1000) is a bit lower. There are more than 2000 houseboats including Shikara. The so-called official docking point is mentioned as Jetty. This is the place where we can hire houseboats according to our needs. There is four major houseboat jetty in Kerala, namely Alleppey boat jetty, Punnamada boat jetty, Kumarakom boat jetty, Ernakulam boat jetty. This is a hub of houseboat owners and third party contractors. We can directly reach these venues through public transport or by cab. The advantage of direct booking is we can inspect them and pay for the boat which we like.
